Welcome to the HELP page:
If
you are reading this you obviously are having some problem with the site. One
of the problems with computers and the internet is just how complicated things
can be. Unfortunately, I can not be there with you at this instant to help.
Problems can arise from all different areas, It may be our site, the server,
the phone lines, your computer or your ISP that is causing the issue. What
this page is intended to do is tell you some of the issues and quirks I
have found and know about. Please read down the list, hopefully your
problem and a solution is there. If it is not please e-mail me at squarpeg@together.net
with as much specific info as possible about the problem. I will attempt to
resolve it. If you have an order already done I suggest
right now you go to check out and print it. You can
always e-mail it to us or phone it in at Toll Free: 1-888-712-7030......Ok
here are some common problems.....
You use
Web TV and are not able to order
anything.
- As far as I can tell web TV can not be used with
this site. You will have e-mail or call in your order.
You order an item but when you go to
the shopping cart there is nothing there.
- This happens when your browser is blocking
cookies. This site uses what is known as "cookies" to keep track of your
order. You will not be able to order if you don't allow the use of
cookies.
Other reasons there are no items
in my cart.
- you have actually placed it but are not aware it went through.
If you entered all your payment info and hit the submit button it is very
likely your order has gone through Even if you have received an error
message or blank page.
- you have had a disconnect at some point from your modem (phone line) or
cable.... This can be a momentary blip in the phone service you may not even
notice.
- you have left the site to another web page then returned.
- You have let the screen remain ideal for more then 20
minutes. Your visit and cart remains active as long as you are using it.
After 20 minutes of non use your order is considered invalid.
Trying to order an item brings up a
blank blue screen.
- If you have Internet Explorer 6 and have your
"browser security" set to high you will have this problem. Click on
"tools" above. Then click "internet options" Click on the security
tab. If the security level is set for high, change it to medium. Press
"apply" and then press "OK"
I want to order but I do not have a
password.
- You do NOT need a password. Scroll down and
simply enter your info. You MAY choose a password for the future and
enter it in the appropriate box. This is used to save you time in
filling out the order form in the future.
I am on the review order page. When I try to go to secure checkout. I get
an error message saying I am going to an unsecured area. If I say I want to do
that .....I go to a search page.
- This happens when the secure server connection is called for and is busy
or unavailable. Remember that others are using the site at the same time.
This is a glitch. In my experience simply going back to the review order
page and hitting submit again will work. If it doesn't keep trying it a
few more times. If this does not work. Print the review order page or
write item# and quantity down. E-mail it to me at squarpeg@together.net
or call it in toll free 1-888-712-7030
When I try to finalize my order I have to wait for a long time and then I
get a "time out" error.
- This is a known error. It almost always involves orders for more then 30
items. When the site tries to actually post your order to the database it
takes longer then the browser is willing to wait. I suggest hitting the
back button. Your order should be there. If not... go to "current
order" it should be there. If the order is actually gone and you have
not left the site. The order probably went through. If you get an
e-mail confirmation your order DID go through.
Assuming you can
get back to the order I suggest printing it or writing it down, this way
you have it and can always call me toll free 1-888-712-7030 or e-mail me
the order at squarpeg@together.net
You can try to checkout again. It won't hurt anything and it is impossible
to submit an order twice. In the future I suggest smaller orders. I know
that goes against good business practice on my end, but if you are going
to order 100 items it is better to break that into 3-4-5 smaller orders.
If you order them the same day I will automatically combine the shipping
so you don't pay any additional.
I am an international customer and I am being required to choose a state.
- There is a state called "International" choose that.
I put my credit card in but it says that it has expired. I have tried
entering it a number of ways and the date is definitely
good. It still gives me
this error.
- The general date format would be something like 02/2005. It is possible
on some browsers that 02/05 would work also. If you are positive there is
no error in your input the problem is probably that your computer calendar
is off. The way the site checks that the date is good on a credit card is
it asks your computer what today's date is! If your computer thinks it is
2005 then a 2004 card would never work. Check your computers clock/calendar
settings.
I am unable to change the credit card type. It says Visa but the dropdown
box does not open when I click on it.
- This happens if you have already filled in the credit card info and then
attempt to open the drop down box. Erase the cc info and then switch
to the correct card.
I can only get some of your web site to work. I can read this page but your
on-line catalog won't open up.
- Yes a problem that plagues this site and others from time to time. This is
a problem with the computer this web site resides on. HTML pages will work
but ASP pages ( the catalog) will not. It is generally very temporary. If
you call me (toll free 1-888-712-7030) and let me know I can usually
have it fixed in 15 minutes.
I noticed that I am getting cheaper shipping rates then you say I should.
- It does happen sometimes under certain circumstances, but I'm not going
to say why. If it happens to you consider yourself lucky as I will honor the
lower rate.
