Size is 4.7 inches across, 3 inches tall. Maybe a candy dish or something for condiments. Age? I am going to say Victorian 1880's or thereabouts. I only have the dish, Originally this would have sat in an ornate white metal basket of some type. If you have a basket your going to quadruple the value. I bought this at an estate auction about 12 years ago. Condition for age is very good. Some light scratching on the bottom as expected but otherwise no chips or breaks all the rigory is in tact. Some shmutz in the bottom from use, but can be cleaned. It does have a manufactured flaw in it. Note the dark spot near the rim. I don't know what it is, looks like a little piece of something embedded in the glass. Definitely made that way. My black light is broken, but I did test this prior and in is uranium glass, glows under black light. Ground pontil on bottom.
I have been
collecting Art Glass for about 20 years. I used to live next to a large
flea market and a couple big antique malls. So I would pick things up
whenever I saw something that fit the collection or I thought was a good
deal. I sold about 50 paperweights last summer and I am getting pushed
to sell the rest as I am relocating. Please check out my ebay store as I
will be putting things up all summer. Thanks
