This is a large glass, going to guess for beer. I collect art glass, and old decorative glass. I bought this out of an antique shop year ago. I am guessing it is Bohemian maybe German. Usually these types of things are from a set and that could be, but it may also have been from a commercial operation a restaurant or bar, hotel , cruise ship maybe someone swiped this from. The reason I say that is it has a mark on about 1 inch below the lip etched in the glass it says 10/20L so I am guessing L stands for liter, does that mean 1/2 liter? Then on the back in white enamel is a J or T or maybe it is a combo of the two. So perhaps it was for a family or maybe this was the trademark of a hotel or something. Looking at the painting of the birds, they look typical of a lot of Bohemian stuff you see, also we have the metric liters being indicated so certainly from overseas. Age? Not sure going to say maybe the 1920's that would be my guess. Condition: It has some scratches on it, some wear on the gold rim. I did not get nutty about cleaning this. The enameling is in great shape though no issues. This is a big glass, 6 inches tall, 3.6 inches across at the mouth. I am guessing large beer glass.
I have been
collecting Art Glass for about 20 years. I used to live next to a large
flea market and a couple big antique malls. So I would pick things up
whenever I saw something that fit the collection or I thought was a good
deal. I sold about 50 paperweights last summer and I am getting pushed
to sell the rest as I am relocating. Please check out my ebay store as I
will be putting things up all summer. Thanks
