SOLD This paperweight has an circular impact mark on it. You get these when they have been dropped. So it is an interior crack showing up as either a circle or sometimes a small crescent. Typically as in this case you can not feel the flaw. I have drawn an arrow in one of the pictures to show you where it is. Other then that it is like new. Has an impressed gibson mark on bottom. 1987. Size on this is about 3 inches across. Here is a bit about the company:
the Gibson Glass Company was established by Charles Gibson, who began working as a glassmaker during the 1950s, working first within the established glass companies ‘Indiana Glass’ and ‘Blenko’, amongst others. His own company opened in 1976, only to close one year later after Charles Gibson decided to change careers.
The company was reopened in 1983 by Gibson and his son Phillip. It closed again in 2006.
I have been
collecting Art Glass for about 20 years. I used to live next to a large
flea market and a couple big antique malls. So I would pick things up
whenever I saw something that fit the collection or I thought was a good
deal. I sold about 50 paperweights last summer and I am getting pushed
to sell the rest as I am relocating. Please check out my ebay store as I
will be putting things up all summer. Thanks
